Today I’m talking about the yin to cortisol’s yang – melatonin. In these past few episodes, while I’ve been chatting all about cortisol – our stress hormone, I’ve been planting seeds and painting the picture of cortisol being like the sun, while melatonin is the like the moon.
So, being that the full moon was just a couple days ago, if you are listening to this in real time, we’re going to be chatting all about melatonin.
This is the best time of year to revel in all that you’re grateful for – and the practice improves your mind, body, and spirit! Join us in this week’s episode as we discuss the importance of taking note of all the good in your life, the ways in which you can show your appreciation for others during the holiday season (and the whole year long) through “presence instead of presents”, and how you can reshape your surroundings to serve as a constant reminder of all you appreciate in life.
In this week’s episode, we had an beautifully eye-opening and thought-provoking interview with Rachel Monique Maskell. From reflecting on our interview together, it’s clear that her work with Story Medicine and Story Circles helps women not only reconnect to themselves and other women in our community, but also helps restore the powerful energy, balance and connection that we, as women, inherently have to our natural environment.
